Backspace or Delete key doesn’t work in Toad

Hello Everyone,

In the last post, I discussed an issue where backspace or delete key was not working in SQL Developer. Sometimes Backspace/delete key also fails to work in Toad.

If you are facing similar issue, please follow these steps to resolve it.

Step1:- Close Toad.

Step2:- Delete “plsqlkeys.bin” from temp directory of Toad installation. In my case, I found plsqlkeys.bin in directory C:\Program Files\Quest Software\TOAD\temps.

Step3:- Re-open Toad. Hopefully Backspace and Delete keys will start working again.

Thanks for reading this blog.

Ritesh

Officially Informatica PowerCenter version 8.6 is not supported by Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System. However with the help of some hacks, I have successfully installed Informatica PowerCenter 8.6 on windows 7.

I will describe entire process of Installation step-by-step.

Important point: Informatica PowerCenter 8.6.0 is not compatible with Windows 7. If you just install the server, you won’t be able to run it in most of the case.

Solution:- Add server bin directory to PATH variable of your computer.

How to set the windows path in Windows 7

Step1:- Change compatibility of install.exe to Windows XP SP3.

Server install.exe can be found at following path:-

Right click on install.exe –> Compatibility tab –> Check box for Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
